03.21.07 | Alamo Downtown | I have to admit that I saw this more out of a weird sense of duty, like i SHOULD see this rather than I want to see this. It's about what I expected... I think at some point I have to admit to myself that I'm just not that into surrealism. I need some semblance of a story and without it, the minutes get longer and longer. I didn't hate this or anything like that, but I can't honestly say I loved it either, or I'd break down doors to get a copy. Plus this guy sat next to me when I went to the David Lynch interview thing who said that Jodorowsky was the only other "hermetic director" (besides Lynch) who was worthy of attention, then he mentioned Kenneth Anger and started looking like he was high on coke. So I have that connection going on in my head, which isn't cool. |
