06.30.07	DVR	This was at the top of the list of movies mentioned in Jow Bob Briggs' Texas history talk that I wanted to see. Arthur Hiller (The In-Laws, Outrageous Fortune) directs James Garner as a Texas oil man who heads to NYC to wheel and deal some money to make up for his run of bad luck on the oil fields. He ends up owning a fancy restaraunt, getting into modern art, and striking oil in Massacheusetts and along the way he falls for feminist wall street analyst Lee Remick. VERY light comedy but fun in a Saturday afternoon kind of way.
