09.15.07 | Internet | Low budget indie about teachers and how tough teaching is. This had a limited run here (maybe thanks to it being shot here) and it looked interesting enough to see but I didn't get around to it in time. It's good. In a festival atmosphere I'd say it's really good. Some aspects of the film don't really pan out and I would've liked a bit more humor but I think the picture plays largely because the main actors are good. Right off the bat you want these teachers to survive and thrive even if they're stuck in hokey storylines. There could've been more here and I'm reminded of how great The latest season of The Wire showed the learning curve of becoming a good teacher but still, this movie has some merit. Not bad. |
