| 08.20.08 | Internet | Huh. This was pretty good. I liked this a lot. The very very end was a little eh but the very end was so awesome I didn't really care if there had to be a final moment that explained it all or whatever. Aside from that though it's pretty damn solid. Sort of like a companion to Dark Blue (duh). I sure wish James Ellroy would get over his writer's block and finish a novel. His jaded-as-fuck worldview is sorely missed in my imagination. I even got over Keanu's "acting" "choice" of sounding like a bad video game voice actor. And the main thrust of the story was evident just by seeing the cast list of characters, but there were some nice turns along the way in typical Ellroy fashion that I love. Good stuff. |
