I think Jarrette said the same thing, but it's like your standard Frat pack comedy for the first half, then becomes this amazingly subversive and original derailing of the romantic comedy genre... it's unbelievable to me that anyone with money backed this film at all. I wonder if there's some conventional second half of a script laying around somewhere with banal studio notes readily accepted by Jody Hill so he could go off and shoot the real version of his movie. It's at that point that I think I started liking this more than Molly did. So yeah, really great, funny, twisted, a little abused as a child probably comedy. |
