Here's the i-hate-writing-this-a-second-time version: I mostly liked it: -The actors were great -The script was refreshing. I like that the main couple's relationship is not in jeopardy like most movies of this type A few minor complaints: -The music was too intrusive to my ear -A few scenes toward the end come off more like acting class monologues than real life Kind of a weird take on the romantic comedy but I guess that's what you get when you have Sam Mendes telling it. I liked it much more than Revolutionary Road, but it still has that contemplative quiet that I associate with all of his work. Makes for an interesting, sweet movie. |
