It's about a somewhat dirty cop who all of a sudden owes ten grand to his bookie and gets increasingly desperate as his absurdly complicated schemes to get the money unravel. It seemed very much like a Dutch version of Pusher to me in that this unsympathetic guy gets himself into trouble then asks us to root for him as things don't go as planned. Beyond that, it's just ten grand! Couldn't he just get a credit card? Is it really that hard to come up with ten grand for a cop who's willing to steal hash from crime scenes? Maybe the small scale was intentional but to me it just seemed pointless. Meh. |
