04.13.13 | Netflix | This made me feel really old. It probably made Wes Craven feel older though. Between Last House on the Left, Nightmare on Elm Street, the first Scream, and this, he's tried to scare four generations of movie-goers. I don't think this one worked but the previous three did so respect to Craven in that regard. I don't think this is one of his worst movies but I don't think it's one of his best either. Mostly just tired. Not as absurdly out of place as the last American Pie movie, but still very much stretching. I also like that a movie with "4" at the end of it dared to make a comment about the amount of horror remakes lately. |
