06.07.14 | Netflix | George Clooney made a war movie with no violence. It was ok, but as you could probably imagine a little boring. I think this is one of those stories that you hear the premise and don't really need to see the movie: Dude: Hey did you know that there was a group of art historians that went around during WWII trying to save all the classic art? other dude: Huh that's cool. What happened? I mean I guess they saved it or most of it because it still exists... Dude: ...yeah... So there's not exactly much tension... the cast is great but it feels like they're hanging out more than working. Most of those guys, Bill Murray and John Goodman especially, kind of just have to smirk or blink and people find them funny so that's mostly what they do. I bet it was real fun to make... kind of boring to watch. Not bad, but maybe tied with leatherheads for Clooney's least interesting directorial effort. |
