09.26.15 | Alamo South Lamar | This Screening is part of event: FantasticFest 2015 Zoe Bell plays a photojournalist following Columbian missionaries led by Nacho Vigalondo until stuff happens and thrills ensue. I was pretty blah on this. It didn't help that the writer said he whipped up the script in two days. A lot of threads don't really connect with much cohesion, the photography is pretty flat, and the score, while I liked the intent, was pretty grating and mixed too high in the theater. I still like Zoe Bell but I thought she'd be in a better movie. Oh, and don't get me started with the ending. Laughable. She swears to never take another photo again, then gets in an El Camino and drives off into the sunset!? blarf |
