| 12.25.25 | Internet | Merry Christmas! We watched this while opening presents. Since we stayed home this year (for the first time, ever I think?) it was a really chill enjoyable relaxing experience. I know the holidays are for family and everything but it was pretty awesome to just do what we wanted for once. Anyway, I don't have much new to say about this movie but feel the need to say that I've seen bits and bobs throughout the years. It's not like this movie hasn't been around more than twice in the last fifteen years... I've just only seen all of it twice. I basically have it memorized at this point anyway. Still love it though, still find each and every performance captivating and timeless and perfect. Bob Clark nailed a Norman Rockwell Americana nostalgia that I never actually experienced but seems like was maybe America's greatest moment (if you were white). Classic. |
| 12.31.23 | Internet | Now somewhat beyond xmas tradition, parts of Elf, Christmas Vacation, and this movie were on the tv this season as we did holiday stuff. I'm adding a note for this because I actually watched it from beginning to end, although I'm not sure I have anything more to say about it. Gotta watch that sequel to be disappointed by it... but this is still a classic. |
| 12.25.10 | DVD | Merry Christmas! |
| 12.24.07 | Friend's House | A Christmas staple since as far as I can remember. Probably since it came out. It still manages to make me laugh. This time around I got a particular kick out of how the dad says "well it's a blue ball!" as he's opening the incredibly heavy gift just dropped into his lap. Like he'd actually get a heavy blue ball like that's a real gift that he wanted. Anyways, Merry Christmas, everyone! Or happy alternative non-consumer-driven holiday! |
| 12.24.05 | Borrowed | Another xmas standard here.... still funny after all these times. a classic. |
