12.18.05 | Pay-Per-View | It's funny how liking a show like ten years ago leads to watching a movie just because a guy from The State did it. That said, this is a really charming little movie about a Baxter: the "nice guy" who always gets left at the altar at the end of the romantic comedies when the couple that was meant to be together finally gets together right at the end. It's charming because it manages to be that same exact thing while also being about it not being that. It's also cast very well with Showalter being the lovable dupe, the leading men roles filled out well with the likes of Justin Theroux and Paul Rudd, and most of The State members making various appearances. I don't really like their Stella show but this was a nice surprise. |
