01.12.05 | Landmark Dobie | My love/hate relationship with Biopics continues. I crab when the real life stories go off in crazy and uneven directions but i also dont like it when the real life stories ARE just like in the movies because... it's just like it is in twenty thousand other movies. Still, it's nice to see the subject matter gain attention. The "funny" scenes in the movie where people are completely clueless about their bodies are actually pretty scary if you consider that it could still be that way if work like Kinsey's hadn't been done. Interesting, but ultimately just another biopic. Oh yeah, i saw this in Austin at the Dolbie theater. The sides were painted up all Castlevania-y and had cobwebby gargoyles on the walls, Unfortunately, they were small seats and a small screen and no stadium seating. Tsk Tsk, but oh well. At least the sound was righteous. |
